Yoga practice has been part of my life for over 15 years and now is the essential thread that weaves the fabric of my life. My practice is based on the teachings as laid out in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and enhanced by other yogic texts and oral teachings. I study Sanskrit, Indian Mythology, and tantric practices. My current practice has a focus of the energetics of breath and asana in order to purify the Nadis and to aid sitting in meditation. Yoga inspires me to be more grounded in the world living each moment more mindfully and peacefully.
I completed my 300 hour training with Tina Pashumati James at Loka Yoga, and am influenced by the teachings of Krishnamurti, Tao Semko, Sandra Sammartino, Marion Barker, Alfred Schmielewski, Richard Freeman and Robert Thurman.
In my classes, I investigate the energetic and emotional qualities of the breath and asana practice, encouraging the students to look inward, beyond the physical into the deeper realms yoga itself offers.
