ADVANCED YOGA THERAPEUTIC ESSENTIAL(S) PROGRAM,ASHTANGA STANDING SERIES, RESTORATIVE, YOGA NIDRA, CANCER, MENTAL HEALTH, CHAIR YOGA, YOGA TEACHER TRAINING & LIFE PROGRAM.

At GEV, spiritual practice comes first. It is very uplifting to be in an environment where simple living and high thinking are emphasized. Everyone is so kind, respectful and mindful in their every actions. Beauty is accentuated in all aspects of life, there are no cars, no pollution and no need to carry money, The impressive community projects, benefitting tens and thousands of people and animals, as well as the very successful model in sustainability are very inspiring. WE WILL BE HERE FOR TWO WEEKS.

Back pain is the most common health complaint in North America and one of the top reasons for missed workdays. In this module you learn about the anatomy of the spine and the function of vertebrae and the major muscle groups that support the spine, including the pelvic floor muscles. We examine common back issues including sacroiliac joint pain, sciatica, scoliosis, osteoporosis, and muscle strain. The module centers on which poses help, which ones hurt, and how to sequence Therapeutic essential(s) classes for people with back issues.

This LIFE PROGRAM will address the anatomy of the shoulders and wrists, while exploring the balance of mobility and stability. We will learn how to keep these joint safe from injury and nourish them after injury has occurred. Learn how to work with specific injuries such as (rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, dislocation, carpal tunnel.) This is an experiential, hands-on opportunity to explore new techniques to improve how your body feels and how to share these techniques in your yoga Therapeutic essential(s) teaching.

How can we support our yoga Therapeutic essential(s) clients with hip and knee issues? How does alignment from the feet influence the health of these joints? Learn the muscles, tendons and ligaments that support the hips and knees and explore strategies that we as yoga therapists can use to educate our clients on the hips and knees. Learn about specific hip and knee issues such as bursitis, groin pull, hip replacement, sciatica, piriformis syndrome, Iliotibial syndrome, complete ACL, MCL, Injuries/Tear/Repair, meniscal tear/repair, osteoarthritis and knee replacement

Restorative yoga is accessible to all students and has incredible healing effects because of the restful nature of the practice. In this module, you will learn a syllabus of restorative yoga postures, learn what poses to use and why, and how best to prop and support your yoga Therapeutic essential(s) clients with varying mobility issues and injuries.

We will also spend time exploring how to incorporate the first two limbs of yoga – the yamas and niyamas – into our teachings of restorative yoga. We will explore the importance of restorative yoga in your private yoga therapy practice.

Yoga Therapeutic essential(s) requires a unique set of tools. Group yoga therapy classes are sequenced very differently from regular yoga classes. Yoga therapists need to be able to listen and understand verbal and non-verbal cues and language, and to be able to adapt sequencing to meet the individual needs of their clients in a group setting. In this course, we will learn the sequencing principles of group yoga therapy classes, with a particular focus on designing, implementing and evaluating group yoga therapy series.

How can yoga Therapeutic essential(s) be adapted to meet the needs of our growing aging population? What are the specific health concerns for yoga Therapeutic essential(s) to be aware of? We look at how to sequence yoga therapy on the mat and special sequencing for chair yoga. We examine specific health concerns such as arthritis, heart issues, osteoporosis, hearing loss and dementia. Included in this component are asanas, pranayama, meditation, mantra, and mudras geared to the 50+ age group.

How can yoga Therapeutic essential(s) for individuals who have suffered trauma? Traumatic events may lead to isolation and feelings of helplessness. Traumatized individuals may develop addictions, mental illness, and a variety of dysfunctional coping strategies. Trauma sensitive yoga teaching skills to effectively and compassionately work with this population include specific asana sequences, pranayama, and grounding techniques.

Inversions and back bends have therapeutic benefits when done properly and adapted for the individual. This PROGRAM furthers your own understanding of your body in inversions and back bends. We also look at the many ways we can adapt inversions to make them accessible for all of our yoga therapy clients.

In this training we will learn the foundations of STANDING SERIES ASHTANGA AND Therapeutic essential(s) evening YOGA NIDRA and how to teach Therapeutic essential(s) in a SPECIAL setting. Students will leave with a broader understanding of restorative Yoga and Raja yoga and Bhakti, how to create therapeutic class plans and effectively teach Restorative Yoga to a wide range of students.

In this program, students will learn how to integrate the chakras in their yoga Therapeutic essential(s) practice. Learn the philosophical principles of chakra theory and how to integrate it in your yoga therapy practice. Participants will be grounded in the body and breath in a journey through the chakras with:

Movement.

Meditation.

Partner & group work.

Journaling.

Explore the Therapeutic essential(s) potential of yoga in context of the inner workings of the nervous system. Medical research is just beginning to understand how yogic practices influence brain structure and function. This life program touches on the basics of brain anatomy and physiology across various mental and physical states. This includes depression, anxiety, pain, and happiness. We learn different asana, pranayama, and meditation Yoga Nidra, options that can be used in a therapeutic setting, both in group yoga therapy classes or private yoga therapy sessions.

How does yogic philosophy fit into Yoga Therapeutic essential(s) This course examines teachings and the philosophy of the yoga tradition from the Vedic age to the present. We explore the philosophy of yoga Therapeutic essential(s) based on the principle branches of yoga including Hatha, Raja, and Bhakti Yoga. Through our study of the principle branches of yoga and foundational texts such as the Bhagavad Gita, and the Yoga Sutras, we learn how to integrate these teachings into our personal and professional practices.

Chronic pain affects 1 in every 5 people in Canada and is one of the leading reasons that people seek out yoga. In this module, we will examine the mental, emotional, and physical contributors to the cycle of chronic pain, the role of yoga in pain management, and how to apply this information in a meaningful way with individual yoga Therapeutic essential(s) clients and groups.

You will walk away from this life program with new skills such as: – How do you serve a person to move when everything hurts? – How biomechanics and alignment intersect with chronic pain science – Understanding the autonomic nervous system,– A brief overview of basic pain conditions – The connection between body awareness, emotional awareness, and pain – The role of breathing and meditation in yoga therapy for pain – Sequencing for chronic pain yoga classes – Exploring links between trauma, anxiety, depression, and pain – How to talk about pain with clients – A look at yoga philosophy and the Yoga Sutras in modern pain management

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali provide instruction on the art of meditation, what constitutes a meditation practice and what happens when the mind becomes quiet. This course will examine relevant teachings, philosophy, neuroscience about meditation in yoga Therapeutic essential(s). During our time together we will be exploring these teachings and tools and will learn how to integrate them into our yoga therapy practice.

This course will give you an in -depth knowledge of Western and Yogic Perspectives on Mental Health including common psychological conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, Psychosis, and Eating Disorders. We also explore the connection between chronic pain and the mind. Yogic Theories of the five Kleshas, Dukha (suffering), and Daurmanasya (negative thinking) will be applied through the tools of yoga Therapeutic essential(s). Students will apply their knowledge in practice teaching and presentation of case studies.

In this life program, you will learn how a holistic model for yoga Therapeutic essential(s), incorporating, vayus, chakras and theory. We will examine breath work in yoga Therapeutic essential(s) research and learn how to work with specific health concerns , athletes, stress-related illness, chronic fatigue, asthma, heart disease and cancer. You will learn how to design and conduct private yoga therapy sessions, including how to practice yoga therapy over the next 3 years so you can really understand how to teach these special populations, and how to create a yoga Therapeutic essential(s) sequence unique to the needs of your client.

A Gokul Single is a small private room with one bed and shared bath. They include a ceiling fan, a desk with chair, electric tea kettle, a closet with hangers, and a small room heater. Bed linens, pillow, blanket, and towels are provided. A hall bath located in each area is shared by guests – averaging 2 people per bathroom. Double are shared rooms with two twin beds and a private bath. Double Cottage rooms are shared rooms with two twin beds and a private bath within a shared cottage. What To Bring

  • Bring your own mat as well as a yoga towel
  • Bring any medication or vitamins you use to take, it's very hard to get them in India
  • Due to air pollution eye drops and face wipes could be very helpful
  • Note pads, pens and pencils
  • pack non perishable snacks as vegan bars
  • Requested books
  • Pepto Bismal tablets and Imodium both were essential for some people. The Eco Village is one of the safest places in India

  • You don't need to bring cosmetics maybe you can buy something more natural in the ayurvedic shop. Coconut oil is very inexpensive in india and will work for almost anything
